Fruitfly

Finally.

A moment to type, relax, procrastinate finals week exam studies, and ramble.

It sounds like the university is forcing me to graduate. I'm willing... After all, I can't imagine what it'd be like to study something other than a 101-this or 101-that. I've already been scoffed at for thinking how wonderful grad school will be; don't people know what it's like to do your undergrad in 6 years? How couldn't grad school be wonderful compared to that?

I visited one of the schools I was accepted into and was subsequently schmoozed to death. I loved it. Never in my educational career had I felt like such a rock star. Don't they know who I am? (or who I'm certainly not??) These schools didn't even force modeling* upon me. My gosh.

Though I haven't made any concrete decisions yet, I'm concocting a half-trans-American roadtrip this summer. Now that I have a taste of what to expect, I can plan my hiking and climbing trips accordingly, without the stress of having to secure a new home in a mad dash. The adventure possibilities are endless! What's even more fun is suckering people into tagging along.

In other news:

- It's set in stone that I'm presenting in Norway in June. No pressure.
- Polar Science Weekend is fun, but children are nuts.
- I can make a mean lasagna, via my very own recipe.
- I'm thinking New Zealand is in my future for Christmas, 2010.

In other, other news:
- I'm still employed.
- I followed my dad up a mountain and am alive to tell about it.
- I have a nasty case of Senioritis

Seriously, do my grades really matter anymore?

Love,
Melinda

*Ask me how I feel about modeling in person.

Photo of some day!

Here is me on another "10-minute" hike on North Star Mountain with the senile father leading the way. And yes, I'm warming my hands up on my belly because it was very much below freezing.
